Dow Jones Industrial Average

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 512 points on Thursday, erasing gains in the market this year, but the White House had little to say except, "the market will go up and down." I have not a specific reaction in the market. Up and down markets," White House press secretary Jay Carney said. "There is no doubt that we have the - this economy has faced a breeze this year, many of them including the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the rise in oil prices, energy prices because of disorders in the Arab world and the situation in Europe also, "Carney said. "Yes, we focus on things that should be the control that has taken the necessary measures." 4.31 per cent drop in the Dow today put in more than 11 500 and is the worst one-day loss since October 2008, when the Dow slipped by 679 points. But the stock market did not take more than 33 years: nine consecutive days of decline. Today's decline is the worst since the February 22, 1978, when Jimmy Carter was president.
